If you do, you gain X life and draw X cards. Since then I've swapped a few cards over from other decks into this deck (strionic resonator, thran dynamo, and teferi time raveler are the most expensive cards here), but you could easily replace those 3 from my list with any budget 2 mana "ETB: draw a card" creature and have a super cheap flicker deck, that wins by grinding out opponents resources and repeatedly flickering ], ], and ]. When Azor, the Lawbringer enters the battlefield, each opponent cant cast instant or sorcery spells during that players next turn.
#AZOR THE LAWBRINGER UPGRADE#
I started by doing things like that, then went out and bought a really cheap upgrade to the deck with the intended goal of keeping it worth under $40 total. Azor is a 6/6 for with flying, so he can be turned into a legitimate threat to kill an opponent by commander damage. If you've got a 2-3 mana creature that says "enter the battefield, draw a card" that's an upgrade for the ranar precon. At first glance you might think Azor is just Sphinx's Revelation on a stick. One really nice thing about flicker decks is that budget version of them can utilize a lot of things that are close to draft chaff. You get a single flicker for a single card draw and he's now done as much as Ranar did for like 3 flickers that he himself doesn't even do. I started with the ] precon, first upgrade is to swap the commander to ] because he's just way better. Precon -> control deck, that's exactly what I did to get to this Brago deck: You can control the board via board-wipes and counter magic and you can win by outlasting your competition with the mass réanimation or hitting face! To summarize I think buckle up would fit best for control, a lot of the cards are cheap like most are under a dollar with the coassions 3 dollar cards but a lot of it comes in the pre con. But there is a good upping the average video for that can show you the upgrade routes! The win con can be smacking face after you board-wipes a lot of the threats away, win via mass réanimation of artifacts with ], ] is also a win con, only "mandatory" expensive card is ] 10 bucks, since it lets you combo off with the commander and a mana dork which you can do on the end step and works for either of the face commanders. You can tell when I start running out of deck ideas when I start doing tribal decks.
